National security imperatives are impacting global markets in ways unseen since the second world war. Increased market intervention and trade barriers threaten to undermine the economic growth, poverty reduction and dissemination of innovation that have been the fruit of open global markets.

The executive director of the Australian Centre for International Trade and Investment, Dr Pru Gordon, hosts an interactive roundtable with Australian Strategic Policy Institute executive director Justin Bassi on the tensions between national security and open markets.

Be warned - 'interactive' means attendees will be called on for comment and questions!

This is a "fringe event" at the AIIA National Conference. Registration is free for holders of AIIA National Conference tickets, but the content of the event is organised solely by the Australian Centre for International Trade and Investment, one of our conference partners. Please note that the event takes place at the same time as AIIA National Conference morning breakout sessions. If you attend this event, it will be in place of one of the conference breakouts.

Should your organisation wish to host partner events at upcoming AIIA conferences, please contact info@internationalaffairs.org.au.
