Event Details

To what degree have the states in Northern Europe developed their military power to counter Russian security threats in the region following the gradual increase of armed aggression during Vladimir Puton's presidency? And what are the future consequences of these developments for NATO? These questions are in focus in the research of professors Dennis Gyllensporre and Håkan Edström recently published at Santérus Academic Press. In their first analytical step (Part II of the monograph) they retrospectively address this puzzle by exploring the shifts in national military power within Northern Europe 2000–2024. Their second step (Part III of the book) is instead forward-looking and policy oriented when elaborating on the key question:

· What should be the trajectory of continued NATO transformation of military power to safeguard security in Northern Europe?
